Kyrgyzstan shares data on livestock exports, imports in 2023

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 8. Kyrgyzstan exported more than 195,000 livestock animals in 2023, Trend reports.

Data from Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Agriculture indicates that the country exported 73,905 large cattle, 116,540 small cattle and 4,996 horses last year.

At the same time, Kyrgyzstan imported 26,292 large cattle, 940 heads of small cattle and 7,311 heads of horses in 2023.

According to the Kyrgyzstan's State Statistical Committee, the gross output value of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan totaled 359.2 billion soms ($4 billion) from January through November 2023. In the overall volume of agricultural production, livestock products accounted for 45.2 percent.

Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $12.297 billion from January through October 2023, which is a 24.9-percent increase compared to the same period of 2022 ($9.845 billion).

Exports from Kyrgyzstan reached $2.443 billion during the 10 months, which is 29.6 percent higher than $1.885 billion recorded from January through October 2022. Imports into Kyrgyzstan amounted to $9.854 billion during this period, increasing by 23.8 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($7.959 billion).
