BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 12. Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product (GDP) reached 73.2 billion soms ($818.517 million) in January 2024, which is a 7.4 percent increase year-on-year, Trend reports.
According to preliminary estimates from Kyrgyzstan's State Statistical Committee, the expansion is driven by a 27.6 percent increase in goods output, a 52.2 percent increase in service sector activity, and a 20.2 percent increase in tax collections.
Meanwhile, overall consumer prices and tariffs increased by 0.2 percent in January 2024 compared to December 2023. Food and non-alcoholic beverage costs grew by 0.4%, while alcoholic beverages and tobacco goods increased by 0.7 percent. However, non-food products and service rates remained constant from the previous month.
Consumer prices and tariffs rose in January 2024 compared to December 2023 in all regions of Kyrgyzstan, with the exception of Jalal-Abad, which had a 0.2 percent decline. The Batken and Talas regions experienced the largest price rises (0.4 percent).
