BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 19. Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan amounted to $1.317 billion in 2023, and accounted for 8.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee indicates that the trade increased by 11.6 percent compared to $1.181 billion in 2022.
Kyrgyzstan’s exports to Kazakhstan during last year reached $455.702 million, increasing by 10.9 percent compared to $410.888 million in 2022. It accounted for 13.8 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total exports.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's imports from Kazakhstan in 2023 totaled $862.182 million, which is an 11.9 percent increase compared to the 2022 figures ($770.215 million). It accounted for 7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total imports.
Among the CIS countries, Kazakhstan ranked second as a trading partner of Kyrgyzstan. Russia held the first place, with a trade turnover of $2.930 million, or 18.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $15.660 billion in 2023, which is a 29.9 percent increase compared to 2022 ($12.057 billion). The country's exports totaled $3.308 billion, rising by 46.8 percent year-on-year ($2.254 billion in 2022). Imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $12.352 billion, which is 26 percent higher than $9.803 billion in 2022.
