BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 20. Kyrgyzstan imported 9,667 tons of oil products from Uzbekistan last year, which is a 15.1-percent increase compared to the 8,396 tons imported in 2022, Trend reports.
According to data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of these imports amounted to $6.341 million, which is an 8.3-percent rise compared to the $5.856 million recorded in the preceding year.
Among the countries from which Kyrgyzstan imported oil products, Uzbekistan held the third position. Russia ranked first, with 504,573 tons of oil products imported for $370.453 million, while Kazakhstan stood second, with 80,341 tons imported at a value of $38.512 million.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 612,007 tons of oil products in 2023, which is 9 percent less than in 2022 (671,733 tons). The total value of imports amounted to $456.864 million, declining by 13 percent compared to 2022 ($525.276 million).
The trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan reached $693.988 million in 2023, increasing by 15.8 percent compared to 2022. Kyrgyzstan's exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $290.766 million, a 22.9 percent increase compared to 2022. Imports to Kyrgyzstan from Uzbekistan totaled $403.222 million, which is an 11.2 percent increase from 2022 figures.
