BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 20. Rosatom, Russia's State Atomiс Energy Corporation plans to build wind farms in the Batken and Issyk-Kul regions of Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.

This was announced by Director of Rosatom Central Asia in Kyrgyzstan Dmitry Konstantinov during a panel session on "Green Energy: Optimizing Energy Balance," organized by the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and Rosatom.

It is anticipated that the wind farm in the Issyk-Kul region will have a capacity of approximately 100 MWh, while the one in the Batken region will be around 80 MWh. Konstantinov noted that Rosatom has already begun investing in the implementation of these projects.

He noted that in addition to wind energy projects, several hydroelectric power stations (HPPs) are planned to be built in Kyrgyzstan by Rosatom with the support of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund.

This includes the construction project of the Chandalash HPP with a capacity of up to 30 megawatts in collaboration with the Elbrus construction company. Currently, efforts are underway to find co-investors for the project.
