BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 22. Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover with the countries-members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) amounted to $5.175 billion in 2023, which is 6 percent less than in 2022 ($5.512 billion), Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz exports to CIS countries amounted to $1.533 billion, declining by 13 percent compared to 2022 ($1.761 billion). Kyrgyzstan’s imports from CIS totaled $3.641 billion, which is 3 percent decrease compared to $3.751 billion in 2022.
In the structure of Kyrgyzstan's overall trade, trade with CIS countries accounted for 33 percent, exports to CIS countries accounted for 46.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan's exports, and imports from CIS countries made up 29.5 percent of the country's imports.
The highest volume of foreign trade turnover with CIS countries was recorded with Russia ($2.930 billion), Kazakhstan ($1.3 billion), and Uzbekistan ($693.988 million). The lowest turnover was observed with Moldova ($2.155 million) and Tajikistan ($2.383 million).
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $15.660 billion in 2023, which is a 29.9 percent increase compared to 2022 ($12.057 billion). The country's exports totaled $3.308 billion, rising by 46.8 percent year-on-year ($2.254 billion in 2022). Imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $12.352 billion, which is 26 percent higher than $9.803 billion in 2022.
