BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 27. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has maintained its refinancing rate at 13 percent, the decision comes into effect from February 27, 2024, Trend reports.

According to the bank, it chose to maintain the refinancing rate unchanged, taking into account the current conditions and trends in both domestic and external environments.

This decision is aimed at curbing inflationary pressures and keeping inflation within the target range of 5-7 percent in the medium term. It was noted that maintaining the current monetary and credit conditions will help reduce inflationary expectations among the public and economic entities.

The annual inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan in February 2024 was 5 percent. In January 2024, the real GDP growth rate was 7.4 percent.

The National Bank continually monitors the evolving situation in the country, both domestically and externally. In the event of emerging risks, the National Bank does not rule out the possibility of making additional adjustments to its monetary policy.

The next scheduled meeting of the Board of the National Bank to discuss the refinancing rate is scheduled for April 29, 2024.
