BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 7. Kyrgyz Stock Exchange (KSE) has included S&P Global Ratings in its list of verifiers (Second Party Opinion) for conducting independent assessments of sustainable financing instruments, Trend reports.
According to the exchange, international financial institutions and consulting firms undertaking independent assessments in compliance with the Green Bond Principles and Social Bond Principles, as well as other bonds issued for sustainable development projects, may be listed on KSE's list of verifiers. Organizations that have received certification from the Climate Bonds Initiative as accredited international verifiers are also eligible.
Second Party Opinion evaluation of sustainable instruments (bonds) is deemed a necessary procedure, confirming the targeted nature of financing obtained through bond issuance for sustainable development projects, specifically those related to environmental, climate, social, and other aspects associated with sustainable development.
The exchange emphasized that it is committed to Sustainable Development Goals and, as a trading platform, strives to create necessary conditions for the entry of issuers of sustainable financing instruments, such as green, social, and other types of sustainable bonds, into the market.
S&P Global Ratings is an American credit rating agency and a division of S&P Global, which publishes financial research and analysis of stocks, bonds, and commodities. S&P is considered the largest of the "big three" credit rating agencies, which also include Moody's Investors Service and Fitch Ratings.
