BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 29. Kyrgyzstan's per capita GDP reached $1,969 in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the country's Ministry of Economy and Finance, the figure rose by 45 percent compared to $1,350 in 2021.
It was noted that the period from 2015 through 2020 saw a sluggish growth in the per capita GDP of Kyrgyzstan, averaging 1.6 percent, influenced by financial market volatility and moderate economic development. However, the period was characterized by a stabilizing trend in economic growth, averaging 4.3 percent.
As per the ministry, since 2021, there has been a notable acceleration in GDP growth rates, leading to a substantial increase in per capita GDP. This period is marked by robust economic growth averaging 7 percent, with nominal GDP volume growth averaging 10 percent.
Per capita GDP is a key measure showing how well people live in a country. When it goes up, it means citizens are doing better economically, with more access to things like goods, services, and opportunities.
The country's GDP surpassed 1.2 trillion soms ($13.4 billion) in 2023, with a real growth rate of 6.2 percent.
