BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 17. Kyrgyzstan has proposed a long-term contract with Azerbaijan for the supply and processing of crude oil, the country's Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev said during a bilateral meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Parviz Shahbazov on the sidelines of the 4th meeting of the Organization of Turkic States, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.

Ibraev emphasized Azerbaijan's extensive experience in oil field development and petroleum product extraction.

He also proposed the country's involvement in hydroelectric and renewable energy projects.

Additionally, Kyrgyzstan proposed considering preferential financing from the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund, amounting to $2 million, for the initial procurement and installation of electric vehicle charging stations.

Shahbazov, expressing readiness for cooperation, suggested forming a special working group to discuss oil supply issues.

He also mentioned an upcoming investment forum on renewable energy and invited Kyrgyzstan to actively participate in the event.

Note that a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the energy sector was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan on April 24.

Additionally, during the signing, it was noted that the parties seek to develop cooperation in the following areas: joint research and development of oil fields in the territories of both countries; trade in oil and oil products; and cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and hydropower.
