BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 14. The use of gasoline, diesel, and gas-powered vehicles will be completely banned in the ecologically clean city of Asman, which is planned to be built in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.

According to information, this follows from the order of President Sadyr Japarov “On the main directions of the concept of construction of the pilot project ‘Ecologically clean city of Asman’ on the territory of Issyk-Kul region”.

The decree orders the Cabinet of Ministers to develop and approve the concept of construction of this city by March 1, 2025. The concept envisages several key areas, including:

- Development of electric transport, creation of charging infrastructure, ban on the use of hydrocarbon (gasoline, diesel, gas) transport in the city and use of only electric transport (electric cars, electric buses and other types of transport driven exclusively by an electric engine);

- creation of necessary conditions for more active use of bicycles as a means of ensuring mobility of the city population;

- prioritizing the use of construction materials, products, production, and other facilities that pose the least ecological hazard to the environment and the population;

- use of energy-saving solutions, “smart home” technologies in the construction of buildings and houses, and others.

The concept will be implemented in stages based on three-year “road maps” approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
