Tajikistan restores electricity supply to Afghanistan

Tajikistan restored electricity supplies to Afghanistan via the Sangtuda-Puyli Khumri high voltage line after a week break, Avesta.tj reported on Monday.

According to Tajik Barko Tojik company, Afghanistan daily imports 40 megavatt electricity from Tajikistan.

It is expected that Afghan power engineering specialists will visit Dushanbe soon to discuss the increase in electricity volumes.

The supplies were interrupted in late April as the result of emergency situation.
