Five supporters of Tajikistan’s former deputy defense minister detained
Another five active members of the terrorist group led by Tajikistan's former deputy defense minister Abdukhalim Nazarzoda have been detained as a result of the special operation in the country, RIA Novosti reported citing the Interior Ministry.
They were detained in Ramit gorge during the special operation carried out by Tajikistan's Interior Ministry and the State Committee for National Security, said the report.
A large number of weaponry was seized as a result of the operation.
An armed attack was committed on the employees of law enforcement agencies in Dushanbe and Vahdat Sept.4. Nine policemen were killed as a result of the attack.
The authorities accused the armed group led by Nazarzoda of organizing these attacks.
