BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. The volume of cement production in Tajikistan decreased from January through May 2022, Trend reports via Avesta.Tj.
In the first five months of 2022 Tajikistan's cement production amounted to 1.6 million tons, which is a decrease of 8.6 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (1.8 million tons).
According to statistics, Tajikistan produced more than 4.2 million tons of cement in 2021. About 1.5 million tons of the total cement production is annually exported to such neighboring countries as: Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Meanwhile, in the beginning of June 2022, construction of a new cement plant in Tajikistan's Sughd region started, which intends to set up production of 100,000 tons of cement per year.
