BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. The total sown area of grain crops as of July 29, 2022 amounted to 276,159 hectares in Tajikistan, Trend reports with reference to the Tajikistan's Ministry of Agriculture.
To date, a total of 136,481 hectares of grain have been sown in the Khatlon region, 85,547 hectares in the Sughd region and 525 hectares in the capital of Tajikistan Dushanbe.
The yield of wheat in the Sughd region is 36.8 centners per 1 hectare, in the Khatlon region - 36.1 centners, and in Dushanbe - 28.1 centners.
According to the ministry, Tajikistan's wheat harvest in 2021 amounted to 864,000 tons, while this year 917,000 tons are expected.
Meanwhile, according to the forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators of the government, Tajikistan plans to increase wheat production by 12 percent in the next three years.
