Zarafshon, Tajikistan's largest gold mining company, which accounts for 70 percent of the country's total gold production, has been exempted from paying VAT and customs duties on the import of certain goods, machinery and equipment.
The list, containing 244 items of goods, machinery and equipment, was approved by a decree of the government of Tajikistan dated July 13, 2022, which was published on the portal of legal information of the Ministry of Justice.
Meanwhile, the total sum of money that the country's budget will not receive as a result of the grant of these privileges is not mentioned.
