BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Tajikistan has revealed the total volume of timber and charcoal imports in the first half of 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Customs Service of Tajikistan.
According to the statistics, Tajikistan in the reporting period imported 255,212 tons of timber and charcoal worth $89.9 million.
Tajikistan's key trading partner - Russia is the main supplier of timber and charcoal to the country. Notably, in 2021, Russia's timber and charcoal exports accounted for 11.6 percent of the total share of Tajik-Russian trade turnover.
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, Tajikistan imported goods worth $2.3 billion, which is an increase of 27.7 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2021 ($1.8 billion).
