BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. Tajikistan shared up-to-date data on the country's harvest of fruits as of August 12, Trend reports via the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan.
According to the Ministry, the total volume of Tajikistan's fruit harvest amounted to 137,913 tons.
"To date, 51,468 tons of fruits have been collected in the Sughd region, 67,894 tons in the Khatlon region, and 17,911 tons in districts under Central Government Jurisdiction," the Ministry said.
Remarkably, Tajikistan is famous for the cultivation of grapes. During the reporting period, a total of 24,626 tons of grapes were collected in Tajikistan. So far, the harvest of grapes is 2461 tons in Sughd region, 11 103 tons in Khatlon region, and 11 062 tons in districts under Central Government Jurisdiction.
Demand for Tajik grapes abroad is growing. Currently, grapes from Tajikistan are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan.
