BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. Tajikistan in the first 9 months of this year slightly increased electricity generation, Trend reports with reference to Avesta.Tj.
The volume of electricity production in Tajikistan from January through September 2022 increased by 3.1 percent compared to the same period of last year - up to 16.3 billion kWh.
During this period, hydroelectric power plants in Tajikistan produced 15.5 billion kWh of electricity, and thermal power plants - more than 805.2 million kWh.
In total, a total of $100 million worth of electricity was exported from Tajikistan in 9 months of this year, which is an increase of 11.5 percent over the same period in 2021.
Meanwhile, the main importing countries of Tajik electricity in the reporting period were Afghanistan ($58.4 million) and Uzbekistan ($23.5 million).
