BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 11. The volume of Tajikistan's Khatlon region exports of agricultural products amounted to 23,800 tons in 2022, Trend reports via Tajik Media.
During the last year, the Khatlon region exported 6,044 tons of vegetables, 330 tons of melons, 5,038 tons of fruits and lemons, 10,863 tons of grapes, and 1,528 tons of other agricultural products.
Agricultural products were mainly exported from the Khatlon region to Russia, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, and Belarus.
Khatlon region, which is situated in the southwest of Tajikistan, is famous for the cultivation of high-quality cotton, early watermelons, gourds, and onions. Agriculture plays an important role in the economic development of the region, ensuring the country's food security, increasing the country's export opportunities, and creating new jobs.
