BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 8. Tajikistan's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased by 23.9 percent in 2022, compared to the preceding year, Trend reports with reference to the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

According to the EDB, the value of Tajikistan’s trade turnover with EAEU has amounted to $3.2 billion last year, which is an increase of $620 million compared to 2021.

Last year, Russia has ranked first in terms of trade turnover value with Tajikistan among the EAEU countries. Trade turnover with Russia has reached $1.7 billion (an increase of $321 million year-on-year), with Kazakhstan being second (total value of trade made up $1.4 billion - an increase of $263 million).

The value of Tajikistan's trade with the other EAEU countries has amounted to $104.7 million (an increase of $37 million).

According to the data, the share of the EAEU accounts for 44 percent in Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan holds a 7.6-percent share in the Tajikistan's foreign trade market. Trade turnover between the two countries has reached $555.4 million in 2022, which is an increase of $107.5 million year-on-year.

The bank added that despite Russia and Kazakhstan being the main trade partners of Tajikistan, economic relationship with China is developing faster, as is evident from the trade increasing by 44.2 percent in 2022, comparing to Russia (23.7 percent) and Kazakhstan (22.3 percent).
