BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. All forms of the production of meat of large and small animals in Tajikistan amounted to 300,500 tons (in live weight) in 2022, and increased by 5.9 percent compared to 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.

According to the ministry, the production of poultry meat (in live weight) made up 48,700 tons during the reporting period (or a 10.4-percent increase over 2021).

In 2022, the country produced 1 million tons of milk (a 2.1-percent increase over 2021), 1 billion eggs, (an increase of 15.1 percent), 8,376 tons of wool (a 2.8-percent increase), 4,565 tons of honey (a 4-percent increase), 4,746 tons of fish (an 8.1-percent increase) and 393 tons of silkworm cocoons (a 12.9-percent decrease over 2021).

Agricultural production in Tajikistan reached 49.3 billion somoni ($4.8 billion) in 2022, increasing by 8 percent compared to 2021.

The main share of agricultural production in Tajikistan in 2022 falls on crop production (68.8 percent of total agricultural production) and livestock production (31.2 percent of total agricultural production).
