BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 8. The number of tourists from Tajikistan to Azerbaijan totaled 177 people in February 2023, which is 2.4 times more than 71 tourists in February 2022, Trend reports via the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan.
According to the agency, the number of tourists arriving from Tajikistan to Azerbaijan amounted to 165 people in January 2023, which is an increase of 4.5 times over 36 people in the same period of 2022.
Overall, a total of 342 foreigners from Tajikistan visited Azerbaijan from January through February 2023. The figure increased by 3.1 times over 107 visitors in the same period of 2022.
Moreover, the tourists flow from Tajikistan to Azerbaijan also slightly exceeded the indicators of the first two months of 2019 (338 tourists).
Meanwhile, the number of tourists from Tajikistan to Azerbaijan amounted to 2,736 people from January through December 2022, which is an increase of 3.3 times, compared to 820 tourists in 2021.
It is still a decrease compared to the pre-Covid 19 period. For instance, the number of tourists from Tajikistan to Azerbaijan accounted for 3,450 people in 2019.
At the same time, only 42 Azerbaijani citizens traveled to Tajikistan in 2022, and 59 citizens in 2021.
