BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. The imports to Tajikistan from Georgia from January through February 2023 increased by almost 4 times year-on-year – from $1.6 million to $6.4 million, Trend reports via the preliminary data of the National Statistical Committee of Georgia.
According to the statistics, the Tajik imports from Georgia amounted to $2.6 million in January 2023, and $3.7 million in February.
Meanwhile, the Georgian Statistical Committee did not provide data for Tajikistan’s exports to Georgia for the corresponding period, as well as for the first two months of 2022.
In general, trade turnover between Georgia and Tajikistan amounted to $22.9 million in 2022, which is an increase of 1.8 times from $12.5 million in 2021.
The exports from Georgia to Tajikistan in the reporting period reached $22.6 million, increasing by 1.8 times compared to $12.4 million in 2021.
The exports from Tajikistan to Georgia made up $304,250 in 2022, which is an increase of 5.7 times compared to 2021 ($53,170).
Last year, the main share of Georgian exports to Tajikistan fell on machinery and transport equipment ($17.5 million).
