BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Some new 20 factories and industrial enterprises were put into operation in Khujand city in the northern part of Tajikistan from 2022 through the first quarter of 2023, according to the authorities of Khujand, Trend reports via Tajik media.

The facilities are constructed as a part of activities that result timed to the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence on September 9, 2026.

In total, 226 buildings of various purposes have been built, reconstructed, and renovated in Khujand in 2022 and the past three months.

Overall, it is planned to build and renovate 590 buildings in the city by September 2026. The renovation work in Khujand includes large projects, such as the construction of high-rise residential buildings, small and medium-sized industrial enterprises, schools and kindergartens, sports grounds and halls, modern clinics, service and shopping centers, as well as the renovation of roads, parks, and recreation areas.

According to officials, all types of building materials undergo an examination before use, and quality control is constantly carried out.

On December 21, 2021, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon declared the years 2022 through 2026 as Years of Industrial Development of Tajikistan, during which it is planned to increase mining and mineral extraction, as well as to launch a number of large enterprises including the ones for the final processing of raw materials.
