Tajikistan, ADB discuss current state and prospects of further cooperation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) discussed the current state and prospects for further cooperation, Trend reports.

According to the official source of Tajikistan, these issues were discussed between the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of the ADB Masatsugu Asakawa.

Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank over 25 years of partnership, including the financing by this organization of 180 projects in various sectors of our country worth more than $2.5 billion.

Masatsugu Asakawa noted Tajikistan's significant opportunities in the production and export of clean, renewable energy and, in this context, the development of a "green economy", and also confirmed the support of the ADB for Tajikistan's initiatives and contribution to the global climate agenda.

The sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of cooperation, the continuation of the implementation of economic reforms and transformations.

Meanwhile, the development of the energy sector and climate change issues were identified as relevant areas of cooperation between Tajikistan and the ADB.
