BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. Trade turnover between Tajikistan’s Sughd region reached $350 million from January through May 2023, Trend reports.
This was stated during a meeting between the head of the Sughd region and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan, Valikhan Turekhanov.
The Kazakhstani diplomat, accompanied by representatives from Kazakhstani business circles, is currently in Tajikistan's Khujand City to actively participate in the International Trade Fair. This event aims to create a platform for trade and economic discussions, providing an opportunity for businesses from both regions to explore potential partnerships.
At the meeting, it was noted that the fair will contribute to increasing trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Sughd region and facilitate the signing of new cooperation agreements.
During the discussions, recent developments were highlighted, including the state visit of President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan to Kazakhstan, during which several new cooperation agreements were signed, signaling the commitment of both countries to fostering closer ties.
