BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25. Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia amounted to over half a billion dollars from January through April 2023, Russia's trade representative in Tajikistan, Evgeny Korenkov, said at the 9th International Trade Fair Sugd-2023, Trend reports.
During his speech, Korenkov drew attention to the fast pace of progress in the development of cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan.
"The results of the first four months of this year showed a 7.5 percent growth, allowing our economic operators to trade up to $512.5 million," he said.
During the forum, Korenkov noted that the abundance of natural resources and human potential in both countries enables them to explore extensive projects across various sectors of the economy, ranging from metallurgy and light industry to service provision and beyond.
The International Trade Fair Sugd-2023 in Tajikistan’s Khujand city, was aiming to attract investments, explore new avenues of cooperation, establish development partnerships, and promote the export of domestic products overseas.
The fair was held on June 23-24 and was attended by guests from Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, China, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, South Korea, France, representatives of international financial organizations, and development partners.
