BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. Romania's exports to Tajikistan saw a significant increase in the first half of 2023, a source at the National Institute of Statistics of Romania told Trend.
According to the preliminary statistical data, exports from Romania to Tajikistan totaled 2.347 million euros from January through June 2023, which is 22 times higher than the figures for the corresponding period in 2022 (104,730 euros).
During the reviewed period, Romania's primary exports to Tajikistan consisted mainly of air vehicles and related items valued at 1.2 million euros and various construction materials (totaling 791,870 euros).
In contrast, Romania's imports from Tajikistan amounted to 91,460 euros during the same period, while no import data was recorded for the corresponding months in 2022. Romania's imports from Tajikistan mainly included fruits (worth 91,400 euros).
Overall, trade turnover between Tajikistan and Romania amounted to 2.438 million from January through June 2023, increasing 23.2 times compared to the corresponding months of 2022, when trade turnover only consisted of Romania’s exports to the country.
