DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 13. The local budget of Tajikistan's Sughd region received 1.393 billion somoni ($127.3 million) from January through June 2023, Rajabbay Ahmadzoda, Chairman of the Sughd region, said, Trend reports.
He highlighted that the surplus amounted to 64.4 million somoni ($5.8 million), exceeding the established plan by 4.8 percent.
Ahmadzoda also said that the Sughd region's internal trade reached 8.381 billion somoni ($763 million) from January through June 2023, which is an 11.1 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022.
The volume of paid services provided to the population during this period amounted to 2.120 billion somoni ($122 million), an increase of 4.3 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
Furthermore, Ahmadzoda said that industrial production in the region reached 12.106 billion somoni ($1.1 billion) in the first six months of the current year, up by 11 percent compared to the same period last year.
The value of agricultural production in the region totaled 4.201 billion somoni ($382 million), reflecting a 15 percent year-on-year increase.
In total, 180 large, medium, and small production facilities have been put into operation in the Sughd region since the beginning of this year, with 100 being new and 80 being temporarily non-functional for various reasons.
