DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 28. Tajikistan has become the primary importer of frozen fish products from the Novosibirsk region of Russia, as of September 27, 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) reveals that a total of 4,338 tons of fish have been exported from the Novosibirsk region to Tajikistan since the beginning of 2023.
In addition to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan imported 1,882 tons of frozen fish products from the Novosibirsk region. Furthermore, a total of 482 tons of fish products were exported to Germany, Lithuania, France, and Denmark during this period.
Since the beginning of 2023, 334 batches of frozen fish products with a combined weight of 6,702 tons have been exported from the Novosibirsk region. This figure increased by 16 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
According to the National Statistics Agency of Tajikistan, Tajikistan's trade turnover with Russia reached $997.4 million from January through July 2023, which is a 9.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year. During this period, the country's imports from Russia amounted to $907.6 million, while its exports of goods to Russia amounted to $89.7 million.
Russia was Tajikistan's largest foreign trade partner, both among the CIS countries and non-CIS countries, from January through July 2023.
