DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 12. The number of industrial enterprises and workshops in Tajikistan’s Panjakent city amounted to 42 from January through September 2023, which is 21 facilities more than in the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
Information from the Panjakent city administration indicates that three production facilities in Panjakent remained completely idle this year. Additionally, the output of two other enterprises decreased.
It was noted that the city's governing body is actively collaborating with entrepreneurs to address the existing challenges and facilitate the reactivation of private enterprises.
Deputy Mayor Sanat Takhirzoda said that the industrial enterprises in Panjakent surpassed 3.7 billion somoni ($337 million) in production value from January through September 2023, which is a 3.8-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022.
Notably, one of the city's largest industrial enterprises, "Zarafshan," contributed to this growth by producing goods valued at 3.5 billion somoni ($319 million) over the nine months.
The production value of industrial products, excluding "Zarafshan," reached 230.5 million somoni ($21 million), increasing 16.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
