He highlighted that last year the country cultivated 266,700 bee colonies, which is an increase of 2,800 colonies compared to 2022.
The minister also mentioned that a landmark event took place on June 20, 2023, with the first-ever beekeepers' seminar held in the Khovaling district of the Khatlon region in Tajikistan. More than 260 beekeepers, along with scientists from various fields and researchers from the country's institutes, participated and presented at the seminar.
Tajikistan enacted the "Beekeeping Law" in 2012, regulating relations in the production of beekeeping products, protection, utilization, and reproduction of bees, their effective use for pollinating agricultural crops, and the entire pollinated flora. The law creates conditions to enhance beekeeping and plant cultivation, ensuring the rights and interests of individuals and legal entities engaged in beekeeping.
