DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 13. Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.328 billion in 2023, which is the highest figure in the country's history of independence, Trend reports.

This was announced during a press conference held by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan. According to the Ministry, this figure rose by 13.9 percent, or $1.019 billion, compared to 2022.

Exports of goods during this period amounted to $2.448 billion, which is an increase of 14.3 percent, or $306.800 million, compared to 2022. The structure of the country's exports is primarily composed of precious metals, accounting for 46.6 percent.

In 2023, imports of goods reached $5.880 billion, which is an increase of 13.8 percent, or $712.6 million, compared to 2022. The structure of the country's imports was dominated by land transportation vehicles, constituting 12.8 percent, followed by petroleum products at 11.3 percent.

It was noted that in 2023, as a result of the implementation of tax and customs incentives across various sectors of the country, manufacturing enterprises with modern technologies were established. This led to increased production volumes of consumer goods, meeting domestic market needs, and expanding the export structure.
