DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, April 11. The World Bank (WB) has published forecasts for economic growth in Tajikistan for 2024-2026, Trend reports.
According to the prediction, Tajikistan's GDP growth in 2024 will be 6.5 percent, one percent higher than the previous forecast given in January.
The bank's analysts state that, growth in 2024 will be driven by private consumption as Russia's demand for labor migrants continues to rise, as well as ongoing growth in domestic real earnings and increased governmental spending on infrastructure.
In addition, the World Bank anticipates Tajikistan's economic growth rate to slow to 4.5 percent in 2025 and 2026.
Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon also stated, while addressing the country's Supreme Assembly at the end of 2023, that Tajikistan's GDP increased by 8.3 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year, reaching more than 130 billion somoni ($11 billion).
