Turkmenistan to attend OIC conference in Istanbul

Minister of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan Byashim Hodzhamammedov will participate at the forthcoming meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in Istanbul (Turkey) on November 5-9. In those days, the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) will meet.
Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is the most influential international organization of Islamic countries, established in 1969. Turkmenistan joined it in 1992.
The OIC has a number of independent organizations established by the decisions of its conferences, and their activities are coordinated by the General Secretariat, including the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).
In June this year the summit of Governors of IDB was held in Ashgabat. This organization recently financed projects in Turkmenistan on purchase of oil tankers, the study of solar energy and expressed readiness to support the construction of the railway corridor between Iran and Kazakhstan through Turkmenistan.
