Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov signed a pardon decree, according to which a number of prisoners will be released from further sentence serving.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov signed a pardon decree, according to which a number of prisoners will be released from further sentence serving.

The document says that action is dictated by "the principles of goodness, justice and humanism, in order to further strengthening the agreement, unity of Turkmen society and every family", as well as in honor of International Children's Day.

The Turkmen leader at the last governmental meeting noted that such actions, conducted on the eve of important dates, are irrefutable testimony to the commitment of the Turkmen people to age-old traditions of humanism and humanity.

According to the Turkmen Government, Berdimuhammadov instructed the relevant officials to personally control that all pardoned individuals to be released from prison and return to their homes.
