Turkmen Supreme Chamber of Inspection revealed a number of deficiencies in the course of audit of state concern Turkmengas, which supply gas to the population, national television Altin Asir said on Saturday.
President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov demanded that the leaders of the industry take all measures for the immediate correction of deficiencies and to organize the work on a proper level, stressing "the inadmissibility of such a situation".
Turkmenistan plans to increase the gasification of settlements throughout the country in 2012. Activities are conducted under a national program of radical transformation of social and living conditions in villages, towns and cities in the districts and regional centers of the period to 2020.
It is planned to construct 300.8 kilometers of gas pipelines in 2012 in accordance with the program.
Turkmenistan ranks fourth among the countries with the largest gas resources after Russia, Iran and Qatar. The largest deposits of the country are concentrated in the Mary region in the east.
