Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov has instructed the Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Ministry to sign a contract with the Chinese company Jiangsu Guotai Litian Enterprises Co., Ltd., an official Turkmen source said on Thursday.
According to the report, a contract will be signed to purchase 71,464 netbooks of Lenovo IdeaPad S110 brand to present them as a gift to first graders of the country's comprehensive schools in 2012-2013.
The document was signed to create favorable conditions for the country's youth to receive modern education, as well as enhancing their computer literacy.
Roughly one year ago, at the request of President Berdimuhammadov, approximately 100,000 first-graders were provided with netbooks. The netbooks that the first graders received during their first day of school included special electronic aids to all academic disciplines.
