Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a number of decrees on personnel changes in the country's banking sector, an official Turkmen source reports.
Khoshgeldy Malikguliyev has been appointed deputy chairman of Daikhanbank state commercial bank, whilst Arslan Ataballiyev has become deputy chairman of the Turkmenbashi state commercial bank.
Under another decree, Serdar Hojaguliyev was dismissed as deputy chairman of the Halkbank state commercial bank of Turkmenistan in connection with his transfer to another job.
Daikanbank which manly serves public and private agricultural producers has over 50 branches in rural areas where it grants loans for agricultural projects through short term credit lines.
The bank has a general licence for transactions in foreign currency and provides services for foreign currency deposit accounts.
Turkmenbashibank serves the oil and gas sector, energy, transport and communications, construction and building materials industry, chemical industry and trade areas.
Halkbank is an institution that safely ensures the deposits of the population starting with World War II veterans down to the country's youth. The bank provides credit services to deploy new banking products through entrepreneurial activity. In addition, it is one of the state owned banks carrying out the process of distribution of vouchers for free gasoline and diesel fuel to citizens of Turkmenistan who are the owners of vehicles. The bank also provides mortgage loans for the purchase of private residential homes.
