Turkmenistan, UN discuss prospects of cooperation

A meeting of Turkmenistan-UN Strategic Advisory Board was held in Turkmen Foreign Ministry discussing the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN, in particular, Turkmenistan’s collaboration with UN agencies and offices in the country, such as UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA , UNHCR, UNODC, and a number of other agencies within the United Nations system.

A meeting of Turkmenistan-UN Strategic Advisory Board was held in Turkmen Foreign Ministry discussing the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN, in particular, Turkmenistan's collaboration with UN agencies and offices in the country, such as UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA , UNHCR, UNODC, and a number of other agencies within the United Nations system.

This was reported by the Turkmen Embassy to Azerbaijan with a reference to Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

High efficiency of reforms in the country carried out under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was stressed at the meeting.

The meeting participants discussed activities of the Strategic Advisory Board, priority areas of partnership within its mandate, methodology of development and implementation of joint programs and projects.

As is known, the Strategic Advisory Board was established in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the government of Turkmenistan and UNDP on March 2, 2012.
