Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov again received the Ambassador of Belarus to the country Oleg Tabanyuhov who presented his credentials to the head of state, a message from the Turkmen government said on Monday.

According to the message, the diplomat conveyed greetings from Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Berdimuhamedov. During the talks there was an exchange of views about the prospects of Turkmen-Belarus relations.

'The Turkmen president and his guest spoke for further effective interaction in the economy, as well as the humanitarian sphere and stressed that the full-scale implementation of the existing potential is in the national interests of both countries', the message said.

The ambassador also stressed that the Belarusian government is interested in further expansion of full-scale interstate cooperation.

A delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin visited Ashgabat in late September to discuss Alexander Lukashenko's visit programme to Turkmenistan, as well as those agreements planned to be signed during the visit.

Currently, some 15 enterprises with the participation of Belarusian capital operate in Turkmenistan. About 13 investment projects worth $1.123 billion with the participation of Belarus companies were registered in the country.

The project for construction of the plant for production of potash fertiliser with a capacity of 1-1.5 million tons of products per year which is being implemented in Turkmenistan by Belgorkhimprom JSC, is a key project.
