President: Over 600 people to get Turkmenistan’s citizenship
Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, October 27/ Trend, H. Hasanov / Over 600 people will get Turkmenistan's citizenship, the country's president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said signing a relevant decree, the Turkmen government said on Saturday. "These people lost their citizenship for various reasons and some didn't have it at all," Turkmen president said. According to the president, all individuals who took Turkmenistan's citizenship are rendered comprehensive assistance and support within the country's Constitution and in accordance with the UN Convention about stateless persons, human rights. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered the relevant agencies to execute and issue passports within a month to the persons who got Turkmenistan's citizenship and to organize their ceremonial presentation together with the heads of provinces. In addition, it was ordered to assist the new citizens of Turkmenistan in employment and buying a house. Over 3,000 persons permanently living in Turkmenistan without citizenship got Turkmenistan's citizenship in 2011.
