Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has met with Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, said the message from Russia's Defense Ministry June 9.
During the talks, Shoigu noted that Russia can't ignore the terrorism threats coming from Syria, Libya, Iraq and other countries.
"It is international terrorism which concerns all of us, especially taking into account that we live in the regions which border with Afghanistan," he said. "The ongoing developments in Syria, Libya and Iraq are the threats which we can't ignore."
Shoigu briefed Berdimuhamedov about the ongoing military operation carried out by Russia's forces in Syria.
He pointed out that Turkmenistan is a strategic partner for Russia especially in the economic and cultural spheres.
