The growth rate of Turkmenistan’s GDP was maintained at 6.2 percent in January-February 2017, said the country’s Ministry of Economy and Development.
The growth rate in agriculture is 7.8 percent, 16.9 percent – in trade, 14.2 percent – in the transportation and communication sector and 10.3 percent – in the services sector.
The ministry said construction of facilities worth more than $48 billion is underway in the country.
Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of the volume of natural gas reserves, according to BP. Currently, the country is exporting natural gas to China and Iran.
