The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution ‘Role of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia’, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a message Nov. 21.

Fifty-seven countries acted as co-authors of the resolution. The resolution welcomes the Center's efforts to strengthen dialogue among the regional countries in addressing the issues of common concern.

Over 10 years since the establishment, the Center has become an excellent platform for regional dialogue on the management of common resources, as well as for cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, organized crime, drugs and human trafficking.

The Center aims at assisting the Central Asian countries to find solutions to the issues relevant for the region, including energy, water management and the fight against terrorism.
