Nurgeldi Italmazov has been appointed deputy general director of the “Turkmen Atlary” (Turkmen horses) state association.
The relevant decree was signed by the country’s president.
The country established an international Akhal-Teke Horse Breeders Association, headquartered in Ashgabat.
It was reported in March 2017 that Turkmenistan plans to apply to UNESCO in order to include Akhal-Teke horses in the World Heritage List.
