A meeting with representatives of the Italian embassy was held in the Turkmen state migration service.
The Italian side stressed the country's high interest in the further development of traditionally friendly relations with Turkmenistan, pursuing a policy of peace and positive neutrality, the Turkmen state migration service said in a message.
"The sides expressed confidence that the cooperation in the field of migration between the two countries will continue to develop dynamically in the interests of the peoples of the two friendly countries," the message said.
The fuel and energy sector, trade, the transport and communications complex and agriculture are key vectors for building up interstate cooperation.
The foreign trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Italy reaches about $1.5 billion annually. In November 2014, Eni company extended its activity in Turkmenistan under the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) for ten years.
The company also showed interest in exploring offshore blocks 19 and 20 in the Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea with more than 500 million tons of oil and 630 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
