Turkmenistan adopts program of country’s socio-economic development until 2025

The program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2019-2025 has been approved in the country, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen presidential decree.

The document was adopted with the purpose of active investment policy, turning Turkmenistan into an industrially developed state, implementing market reforms that ensure economic diversification on industries and types of property, its digitalization, creating new jobs and improving regional investment activity.

In the near future, it is planned to implement a set of measures to increase the volume of exports of domestic products and import-substituting goods, privatize state property and develop the non-state sector of the economy.

It is expected that this program will become an action plan and will include projects in the field of industry, energy, foreign trade, education, healthcare, agriculture and tourism.

Turkmenistan is one of the key players in the gas market in the Caspian region and Central Asia.

Turkmenistan, according to a report of BP, ranks fourth in the world in terms of natural gas reserves and exports its gas to China and Iran.
