Turkmenistan has revealed statistics related to production in its agro-industrial sector from January through May 2020, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
The issue was discussed as part of the report on the country's GDP results for the mentioned period, at the working meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
According to the report, the growth of the total volume of agro-industrial production exceeded the results of the previous year by 17.4 percent.
Overall volume of production in sectors subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of the country exceeded last year's results by 18.2 percent, State Committee for Water Management of Turkmenistan by 10.2 percent.
Regarding manufacturing of agricultural products, it was noted that grain harvesting has started in the Akhal, Lebap and Mary regions, while Balkan and Dashoguz regions are preparing for wheat harvesting, which will begin on June 12, 2020.
Also during the meeting, a draft resolution on the purchase of chemical products for agricultural crops was presented to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
